The Job:
As a Sous Chef, you will work alongside a talented kitchen team to ensure high-quality food is consistently delivered across all dining outlets within the hotel. You will be instrumental in managing your section, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to the overall success of the hotel’s culinary offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work effectively and collaboratively within the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and exceptional food quality.
- Ensure food preparation and service meet the highest standards of excellence at all times.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Provide professional, courteous, and friendly service, upholding the hotel’s reputation.
- Take full responsibility for food prepared in your section, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Support the Sous Chef or Head Chef by following direction and managing your section independently in their absence.
- Manage guest relations, as required, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of performance standards and delivery expectations within the kitchen.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven minimum 5 years experience in a busy, professional kitchen environment, ideally at a four- or five-star level.
- Experience in a similar Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef role, or with significant kitchen responsibilities.
- A thorough understanding of HACCP procedures and food safety protocols.
- Proficient in a variety of cuisines and committed to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
